Nina works for Papa Taiao Earthcare, a sustainability and ecological restoration training organisation that enables young people to lead enterprising social, cultural and environmental projects while gaining ncea qualifications and earthcare skills. She is passionate about youth voice, social entrepreneurship and suicide prevention.
Nina was born and raised in Kaitaia, and loves Te Hiku and the people and the environment.
Blair is 22 years old and worked for Te Rarawa Anga Mua as a Kiwi Advocate, teaching young people in the North Hokianga how to take care of Kiwi birds and the relationship between native species and pests. She is involved in the Far North Youth Council and is passionate about the environment, sustainable living and utilising Indigenous knowledge.
She wants young people to know that life is a journey not a competition, and that we should all be ourselves and make the most of our personal journeys.
Renee is 19 years old and comes from a family of 13. She was raised in Kaitaia and works at Te Hiku Hauora GP clinic. In 2015 she was Trigg House Captain of her school, Kaitaia College and she is now a part of the Far North District Youth Council and Arotahi.
She likes helping people and wants to create something sustainable to help nurture Rangatahi in her community, and showcase the positives and change the negative stigma around Rangatahi who need help.
Aroha is on the Youth Council for the Far North District. Kapa haka is her life and she loves to sing and communicate with others. Aroha feels passionate about improving her communities and changing the social stigma surrounding small town Maori populated communities. She loves to learn and also enjoys volleyball and the outdoors.
