We Can Create

We can create. Yes we can. We can do anything. That, and feeling really inspired is what I’ve taken away from the last two days at the We Can Create Conference in Auckland. The twelve leading creative thinkers from around the globe shared their insight with a 1000+ crowd at Auckland’s Aotea Centre – so what exactly did we take away?
Creativity has so much to contribute to making the world a better place. Be it design, filmmaking, photography, marketing, web and software development – the ability to weave these threads together to innovate, entertain, inspire and mobilise thousands of people is absolutely possible.
Too often such skill sets are accessible only to big industry – yet almost unanimously all of these high flying creatives have a social conscience. They want to contribute. They want to make a difference. Imagine how much capacity New Zealand’s community sector could benefit from such skills.
That’s the dream – and we can make it happen!

The dream for Festival for the Future is to bring together emerging creative industry + entrepreneurship + social change. To equip our next generation of young people with the knowledge, networks, skills, support and tools to create epic projects that impact our communities in the most positive way possible.
We’re making progress on the programme – searching for the best practitioners we can find to share their insights. We’ll release the line up in two weeks – if there’s someone you want there let us know.
